Meet and greet

Free ‘meet and greet’ consultations, prior to any booking, a consultation meeting has to be carried out - it is vital that the pet, owner and the pet sitter all meet prior to the booking to ensure the service is right for everyone and we place you under no obligation.

We provide  force and pain free services and do not use or will walk dogs on slip leds, choke, prong or shock collars. We also do not use extendable leads and reserve the right to cancel/refuse any walks with this kind of equipment.

Behaviour disclosure

The owner is to make full disclosure of any quality or characteristic problems which might make your dog not suitable for walking, including behavioral or health problems, antisocial behavior; including aggression, incontinence or lack of house training and excessive loud barking or whining. Walk This Way reserves the right to cancel the contract at any time & with immediate effect if the dog does not respond well to the walker and/or other dogs.

Female unspayed dogs

Female dogs in season must be walked alone and will have a specially arranged quiet walk away from distractions. Failure to inform us about the current season will result in cancelation of the walk and charges for the scheduled walk.

Weather

Dogs will be walked in any kind of weather, however we reserve the right to apply personal judgment and cut the walk short if necessary because of extreme weather conditions (ie, heat, thunder storms, wind or extreme rain) for the safety of both the dogs and the walker.

Timekeeping

The booked time is estimated only and whilst we make every effort to arrive at the time given, depending on road conditions and unforeseen circumstances. In adverse weather conditions please understand that we are still open and may be slightly delayed. Please note that time starts from when the dog walker arrives at your property.

Food

All pets should not be fed within 1-2h prior to exercise.

We use different kinds of treats during our walks and when pets are then left at home. We kindly ask that if your pet has any allergies or special diet, you inform us of those or any changes that might occur and provide us with an alternative suitable for your pet.

Groups

We are fully insured to walk up to six dogs at a time. Most of the time your dog will be walked with other dogs, unless a special agreement has been made.

We make every effort to contact the owner in the event of an emergency. We recommend owners provide us with a contact number of a trusted third party should we be unable to make contact. However, we reserve the right to make decisions regarding your pet’s health provided it is at all times acting in the best interests of the pet and on the advice of a veterinary surgeon. The owner is responsible for payment of any veterinary fees incurred.

The client must provide all items necessary for pets to be adequately cared for in the client's absence. (i.e., special food requirements, medication, leads, tags, collars, cat litter etc).

Policy Overview
At Walk This Way, we understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes you may need to cancel or reschedule your dog training session. However, as a small business, last-minute cancellations and no-shows significantly impact our schedule and ability to provide our services to other clients. To ensure that we can continue to offer the highest quality training services, we have implemented the following cancellation policy.

Policy Acknowledgment

By booking an appointment with Walk This Way, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by this cancellation policy.

Cancellation and rescheduling Notice Requirement
We kindly ask that you provide at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your dog training session. This allows us to offer the slot to another client who may be waiting for an appointment.

Late Cancellations (Less Than 48 Hours' Notice)
Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled session will not be eligible for a refund. This policy is necessary to compensate for the time reserved for your session that cannot be reallocated on short notice.

No-Show Policy
If you do not show up for your scheduled session without any prior notice, the full session fee will be charged, and no refund will be issued.

Packages
For clients who have purchased session packages in advance, please note that a session will be deducted from your package if a late cancellation or no-show occurs, in accordance with the policies outlined above.

How to Cancel or Reschedule
To cancel or reschedule your session, please contact us directly via phone at 07830713346 or email at walkthisway@petlover.com. If you reach our voicemail, please leave a detailed message with your name, your dog's name, and your appointment details.

Contact Information
If you have any questions or need clarification about this policy, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Discretionary Exceptions
While our cancellation policy is designed to protect both our time and our clients' commitments, we understand that unique situations may arise. Therefore, we do reserve the right to waive the non-refundable policy at our discretion.

This means that in certain circumstances, where we are able to re-fill your spot we may choose to allow a rescheduling or refund despite the cancellation occurring within 48 hours.
